The release of Kanye West and Jay Z’s collaborative record, Watch The Throne, was always going to be one of 2011′s biggest albums, and now it appears that the record is already breaking records.
The album which was released on August 8th has now passed Coldplay’s record for most ITunes downloads in the first week of release. Watch The Throne sold 290,000 digital copies, surpassing Coldplays’ Viva La Vida or Death and all his Friends which sold a meagre 282,000.
The news doesn’t come as a great surprise with the previous landmarks achieved by both Kanye and Jay Z in the past. The duo will be touring the USA later this year and Kanye will also be playing at Austin’s City Limits Festival in September.
