Sebastien Grainger, Death From Above 1979′s singer and drummer duetted with the sign language interpreter at Lollapalooza this weekend.
The band were playing the main stage at the Chicago Festival, at which all main stage performances are translated to sign language. Whilst playing classic song Romantic Rights, Grainger left his drum kit, climbed to where the translator was signing, and sang to her while she translated. The performance can be watched below.
Spinner reports that he told her after the song: “You looked lonely over there. If we had another drummer I’d come back, but I can’t… I’m staying at the Hard Rock, so look me up. I got a whole lotta signs, if you know what I’m saying, and none of them say ‘Stop’.”
The band will play in Manchester and London in October.
Death From Above 1979 tickets are available now.
